Olivia parker
Photo Shoot One
'In the style of' shoot is where I am researching a photographer, Olivia Parker, taking inspiration from her photos and using her techniques such as plain objects and colours as well as using certain effects on my photos.
For my Olivia Parker inspired shoot I used the theme of nature by using flowers; as well as the sepia/black&white effect.
This shoot was very easy to prepare and the photos didn't need much photoshop. I cropped all the photographs slightly to make sure the vase and flower(s) were the main subject of the photograph after I used a black and white filter on top to make the photo to give the photo a Olivia Parker technique.
What?
How?
Why?
- Olivia Parker professionalises in old/vintage themed photographs.
- Her photos are mostly very simple with a black and white effect; If they are not in the black and white effect then they most likely have a plain/neutral background colour such as pale creams to light browns.
- Having a plain, simple background makes the viewer focus on a object or objects that are included which makes the plain back ground very effective.
How?
- The photos are based around animal's ,plants ,bodies and detailed objects(not man made)
- Very natural objects are used for her shoots.
- Before Parker stared being a photographer she used to paint.
- very simple themes used; black and white or dull colours.
Why?
- Olivia Parker became a photographer because she was inspired by 17th century style(hence her vintage theme.)
